Are systems, tactics, and strategies enough for moving beyond the ravages of prostate cancer treatment?
I have always been, and continue to be, a big believer in tactics. Experience tells me that execution of tactics and hard work can get results, even if the underlying strategy isn’t the best. Yes, tactics can accomplish something for us. If we have the grit, we can make it. So, we work our way through life with all the strength we have. Brute force you might call it.
But over the years, I’ve discovered that there is one thing that surpasses the best tactics. Surpasses even the best strategy. This one surpasses everything else.
With it, you can accomplish anything –
It works like a steady source of strength and determination…
Like a spring of encouragement from deep inside that enables you to hurdle any obstacle to your goals.
It keeps you going, and going, and going…
On the other hand,
Without it, even the most basic tasks seem daunting.
The road to where you want to go looks hazy.
You know you can do something but you just don’t know how.
And you view failure as a dead end.
What is this one thing?
It is the belief that we are still a work-in-progress.
It drives us to be the best that we can, to aim for a better relationship with our significant others, and to tackle failures and obstacles as springboards and learning experiences.
We all share in a desire for growth and fulfillment; for ourselves, for our significant others, for our families, for the community, and for society in general.
Have you ever discounted the importance of this belief? I did when I experienced my second bout of Prostate Cancer.
I couldn’t have been more wrong. It stalled my healing and delayed my new lease on life.
The Growth Mindset:
When you are in a positive, growth oriented mindset…
When proving yourself is not your main goal…
When you acknowledge that you can still be the best that you can be…
When you open your being to learn, unlearn, relearn what is essential for you right now…
You believe in yourself.
You feel good about yourself.
You feel good about others
You feel good about your work
THIS is when you get in the flow, and enable yourself to achieve your greatest potential.
This is when the ideas just come. When the execution feels easy. When you know that you are moving beyond your present self, when you are doing your great work, and that nothing will stand in your way.
I’m really interested in this topic right now, and believe, I know I have some great ideas around it. I’ve found that things like healthy eating, exercise, and meditation contribute substantially to everything else involved in healing from the side effects of prostate cancer treatment.. It takes me and the support community I have created to defy the ideas of the “Consensus Trance” and status quo about the side effects of Prostate Cancer Treatment.
I need to challenge my and society’s beliefs on regaining our sexuality after any major illness.
Most importantly, this is about YOU.
I’d like to hear from you…
